CCTV Systems

Monitoring and protecting remote sites, access roads or buildings is challenging. Traditional Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems require mains power and cabled connectivity together with monitoring and maintenance contracts. These are expensive, and time-consuming to put in place and not suitable for short-term development or building sites.

Diesel or hydrogen generators are vulnerable, and you may be liable for any expensive repairs or damage caused by contractors or vandals. You are also bringing flammable material onto site.

Secure Empty Property has innovative CCTV technology to overcome these issues. The new Ultra Revo CCTV system can be deployed anywhere – fast. Even off-grid without mains power, we can provide high-definition CCTV coverage to detect vehicles, trespassers, squatters or travellers day or night.

Frequently Asked Questions

The technology of intruder detection or CCTV differs and the most appropriate system depends upon the site, application and security requirements.

Image or video-verified intruder detection with remote monitoring is most suited where clients are concerned about trespassing onto sites and need a security guard to attend quickly to minimise risk or theft.

CCTV offers continuous surveillance of the site which can be more suited to an active construction site with authorised access from various contractors or staff. Reviewing footage from the site through the ‘cloud’ anywhere in the world gives evidence of theft, H&S issues, time on/off site etc. These systems are monitored by the client or their security team locally.

Some systems can use local WiFi for communication between the camera detectors and local or remote monitoring. Other systems use GPRS mobile phone networks to give complete flexibility of location and installation.

Wireless and battery-powered security systems offer complete flexibility of installation around a property or site without phone lines or mains power. So they can often be installed discretely for covert monitoring of vulnerable sites.

There are limitations in battery life and signal strength which need to be considered at installation and commissioning. Batteries can be augmented with solar panels to boost charge even in the winter. Signal strength issues can be overcome with hi-gain aerials and locating base stations nearer to the detectors. The Secure Empty Property team will manage tricky installations and liaise from site if this results in any compromises in security.
