Guardians – What are the pitfalls of using guardians?
Guardians pay a subsidised fee for their accommodation on a short-term licence of occupation. However, although the guardian may have some limited vetting, they can allow uncontrolled access onto the site by others. Key control is minimal and the Guardian is likely to be out of the property during the day reducing security further. Live-in guardians also need extended notice to leave the property reducing their flexibility when they are essentially made ‘homeless’.
